Guide a colourful dino through an endless stream of pipes and nab a high score on Flappy Bird-alike Splashy Dino
Press Release - Splashy Dino
Guide a colourful dino through an endless stream of
pipes and nab a high score on Flappy Bird-alike
If you failed to download Flappy Bird before its Vietnamese creator, Dong Nguyen, dragged it out of the App Store, you’re probably wondering if all of the fuss and the fanfare that surrounds the over night success is warranted.
Thanks to a new Flappy Bird-style game called Splashy Dino, you can now find out for yourself.
Just like in Flappy Bird, Splashy Dino tasks you with guiding a small critter (a colourful dinosaur in this instance) past a never-ending stream of long green pipes, which stick out from the top and bottom of your device’s screen.
Your on-screen critter moves forward automatically, so you can concentrate on controlling his height and nabbing the highest score you possibly can. Just tap your iPhone’s display to make him fly upwards, and stop tapping if you want him to descend.
Thankfully, Splashy Dino isn’t exactly like Flappy Bird. It’s a little easier, for starters. Flappy Bird was infuriatingly difficult, but Splashy Dino’s developer, Alex Ledovskiy, has made his title more accessible by increasing the distance between pipes.
If you do manage to nab a pretty impressive high score, you can easily see how you stack up against your buddies thanks to the Splashy Dino’s Game Center-powered leaderboards.
Additional leaderboards, as well as in-app purchases and the ability to continuing playing even after you’ve crashed into a pipe, will be added to Splashy Dino in the future, so keep your eyes peeled for updates.
Interested? If so, download Splashy Dino from the App Store right now. It’s free, after all.
